Description
Delightfully thick and chewy chocolate chip cookies with crispy edges and gooey centers, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large eggs
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups chocolate chips (semisweet and dark)
- 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
- Optional: Extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Prepare the wet ingredients: In another mixing bowl, beat the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Combine the mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir until just combined, being careful not to over-mix.
- Chill the dough: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven: Set to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop and shape: Using a cookie scoop, place the dough on the baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie. Add extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt if desired.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, until edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
- Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Allowing the cookies to sit on the baking sheet for a few minutes helps maintain their shape. Experiment with different mix-ins for added flavor.
