Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix the milk, applesauce, and egg in another bowl until well incorporated.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
- Drop heaping spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown, then allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters just before serving.
