Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix the milk, applesauce, and egg in another bowl until well incorporated.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
  6. Drop heaping spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown, then allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet.
  8. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters just before serving.
