Description

Deliciously crispy egg rolls stuffed with smoky brisket, creamy cheese, and jalapeño, drizzled with sweet honey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked brisket, chopped
  • 1/2 cup jalapeños, diced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • Oil for frying
  • Honey for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Combine all the filling ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Take an egg roll wrapper and place about 2 tablespoons of the filling in the center. Fold the bottom up over the filling, then fold the sides in tightly, and finally roll it up. Seal the edge with a bit of water.
  3. Pour oil into a large deep pan, about 2-3 inches deep, and heat it to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Carefully place two or three egg rolls at a time into the hot oil. Fry until they turn a golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Use tongs to remove the fried rolls and place them on a plate lined with paper towels.
  6. Drizzle warm honey over the crispy egg rolls before serving.

Notes

For variety, use shredded chicken or pulled pork instead of brisket. You can also add black beans for a heartier filling.
