Description
Deliciously crispy egg rolls stuffed with smoky brisket, creamy cheese, and jalapeño, drizzled with sweet honey.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 egg roll wrappers
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cooked brisket, chopped
- 1/2 cup jalapeños, diced
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- Oil for frying
- Honey for drizzling
Instructions
- Combine all the filling ingredients in a bowl.
- Take an egg roll wrapper and place about 2 tablespoons of the filling in the center. Fold the bottom up over the filling, then fold the sides in tightly, and finally roll it up. Seal the edge with a bit of water.
- Pour oil into a large deep pan, about 2-3 inches deep, and heat it to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place two or three egg rolls at a time into the hot oil. Fry until they turn a golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Use tongs to remove the fried rolls and place them on a plate lined with paper towels.
- Drizzle warm honey over the crispy egg rolls before serving.
Notes
For variety, use shredded chicken or pulled pork instead of brisket. You can also add black beans for a heartier filling.
