- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 5 oz fresh spinach, chopped or whole
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- Black pepper, to taste
- Optional: ½ cup diced red bell peppers
- Optional: ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
- Optional: Substitute mozzarella cheese for cheddar if desired
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9×9 baking dish.
- Cook the ground turkey in a skillet over medium heat for 6-8 minutes until browned.
- Add the garlic powder, salt, and pepper; cook for another minute, then stir in the spinach.
- Incorporate the cream cheese, reduce the heat, and mix until melted, then let cool for 5 minutes.
- Combine the beaten egg and ½ cup cheddar cheese into the turkey mixture.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with the remaining cheddar.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
