Description
A warm, melty twist on classic grilled cheese, combining sweet pineapple and savory Canadian bacon for a tropical delight.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices sourdough or white bread
- Butter (for spreading on bread)
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce (more or less, to taste)
- 4 slices Canadian bacon
- 4 pineapple rings (canned or fresh, patted dry)
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese (or your favorite melting cheese)
Instructions
- Butter one side of each slice of bread to ensure a crispy exterior.
- Pat dry the pineapple rings to prevent your sandwich from getting soggy.
- Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat.
- Lay one slice of bread, butter side down, on the hot griddle.
- Spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on the unbuttered side.
- Layer with 2 slices of Canadian bacon, followed by 2 pineapple rings, and then 2 slices of cheese.
- Top it with another bread slice, ensuring the buttered side is facing up.
- Cook for 3–4 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip carefully and cook for another 3–4 minutes until the cheese melts and both sides are toasted.
- Remove from the pan, let cool slightly, and then cut it in half to serve.
Notes
Serve alongside a light salad or creamy tomato soup. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2–3 days. Freeze for longer storage.
