- 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Prepare your onions: Start by peeling the onions and slicing them into thin rings (about ¼ inch thick).
- Soak the onion rings: Place your sliced onions in a bowl and cover them with buttermilk. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
- Mix the coating: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat the rings: Remove the onion rings from the buttermilk, dip each ring into the flour mixture, and shake off excess flour.
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for about 5 minutes.
- Air fry the onion rings: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, place a single layer of onion rings, and spray the tops. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
