Description

A festive loaf of bread filled with spices, dried fruits, and nuts perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit (e.g., cranberries, raisins)
  • 1/2 cup nuts (e.g., walnuts, pecans)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast in a large mixing bowl. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes.
  2. Add flour, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, salt, cinnamon, dried fruit, and nuts. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for approximately 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
