Description

Delightful rolls combining sweet cream cheese and tart blueberries, perfect for brunch or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Stir in the warmed milk and egg until the mixture comes together.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover it, and allow it to rise in a warm spot for about an hour, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll the dough out on a floured surface into a rectangle that’s about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread the softened cream cheese evenly over the rolled dough.
  8. Sprinkle the blueberries across the cream cheese layer.
  9. Roll the dough tightly into a log shape and slice it into 1-inch thick pieces.
  10. Place each slice on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, giving them room to rise.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  12. Mix the powdered sugar with 1-2 tablespoons of milk until smooth for the icing.
  13. Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls once they’re out of the oven and slightly cooled.
